This Pikorua (twist) pendant has been hand carved from New Zealand pounamu (greenstone/ jade)by Moreton carvers based in Hokitika, South Island.

The single Pikorua figure eight represents the path of life, it is the eternity symbol based on the crisscross of the kete (woven basket) where the path of life in spite of challenges and differences continues and time is unstoppable.

The multiple twist pendant represents the joining together of people and cultures for eternity. Despite the highs and lows they remain bonded by friendship and loyalty for life.
